Concerns and complaints

At the Appointments Commission we set ourselves high standards for our service to applicants. We aim to process applications as quickly as possible and to treat people courteously.

However, we recognise that occasionally things may go wrong. If you wish to make a complaint, please put this in writing and send it to:

We aim to respond as promptly as possible to all complaints and certainly within 20 working days of receiving the complaint. If your complaint is particularly complex it may take a little longer to resolve, but we will keep you informed of progress.

We are regulated by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA) which monitors all appointments to public bodies and has produced a Code of Practice which we follow. If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, you may refer it to OCPA.
