The Appointments Commission

We make around half of all public appointments and reappointments regulated by OCPA in England.
On average, we manage more than 500 public sector recruitment campaigns a year, over 90% of which result in a successful initial appointment.

In 2006/07 we:

Advertised 1,200 vacancies
Handled 18,059 applications
Appointed or reappointed 342 NHS chairs
Appointed or reappointed 1,888 NHS non-executive directors
Provided 2,435 training places
